Last night, what a thrill:
I plug my headphones into a volume switch, which I've attached to my desk.
The volume dial has to be set much higher when headphones are plugged in versus not.
I unplugged my headphones, but forgot to turn off the speakers entirely.
I check my iPhone one last time before going to bed, then I set the phone down on my desk.
This is where the fun starts...
In the middle of the night, 3:00am, I suddenly get the loudest electromagnetic interference pumping through my 7.1 surround sound speaker system ever.
Absolute screeching modulation and electronic grumbling sounds. Oh my god, it just hit me so fast.
I went from stage 5 sleep all the way to full consciousness in a blink of an eye. My heart was racing and tightening. I was breathing fast and scared out of my mind. I screamed in panic -- I didn't know what it was.
Then I quickly turn my head and see my iPhone screen lit up because of a new text message alert from my bank, and then the screen turned off. I swear to god, I thought I was in some paranormal horror movie.
I'm getting too old for this shit. There must be some deeply rooted issues with me.
P.S. - Apparently all
phone book violations were forgiven -- I didn't even have to say anything (thank goodness). Apparently other people complained about it.
just joking mate
I went to sleep and the alert noise for the finished download could have blown my brains out, I sat there for like 2 full minutes figuring out what it was because the sound was so short but loud, pure shock
Haha bad times.
